The Vancouver International Jazz Festival returns this summer with live music, artist talks, and community events across Vancouver.

This year, Coastal Jazz launches a new series at Zameen Art House on Granville Island. The series features new festival artwork by Lee Hutzulak and explores the theme “Song Form // Less.”

Each afternoon pairs two festival artists for solo sets, collaborations, and artist talks focused on improvisation and musical form. The intimate setting gives audiences a rare chance to experience some of the festival’s standout artists up close. All performances begin at 2:30 p.m. and use a pay what you can format.

Queer Artists Take the Spotlight

Coastal Jazz continues its partnership with the Queer Arts Festival this year, highlighting an exciting lineup of LGBTQIA2S+ talent across the festival.

The Tomoki Sanders Quartet performs on June 25 at The Birdhouse alongside the Todd Stewart Trio for an evening of adventurous, forward-thinking jazz.

On June 28, Wallgrin returns to Vancouver at Ocean Artworks with a powerhouse lineup that includes Jen Yakamovich, Elisa Thorn, Nikko Whitworth, and Amanda Sum. Devours also joins the bill with energetic electronic pop anthems guaranteed to get the crowd moving.

Coastal Jazz Continues Supporting Vancouver’s Arts Community

For 41 years, Coastal Jazz has built community through live music, partnerships, education, and accessible arts programming. The organization continues working to make music accessible while supporting artists and creating spaces for people to connect through live performance.

The annual 50/50 fundraiser helps keep more than 30 percent of festival programming free to the public. Last year’s raffle pot reached $26,150 and raised more than $13,000 for Vancouver’s arts community.

Raffle tickets became available on May 1, 2026, and packages include:

  • 200 tickets for $100
  • 50 tickets for $50
  • 10 tickets for $20
  • 3 tickets for $10

The grand prize winner receives 50 percent of the total jackpot. Organizers will draw the winning ticket on July 13, 2026.
