Chia Blueberry Overnight Oats #Recipe
Chia seeds are pretty great.
They’re a great source of omega-3, calcium, even protein.
And they’re prefect for making a jello-like consistency in a recipe that calls for gelatin – which is derived from boiling skin, cartilage, and bones of animals.
This is a great alternative for vegetarians!
But that’s not entirely what I want this post to be about.
This post is about a chia seed product with extra oomph.
Chia Seeds with Oomph
I was given the chance to try a new product called ProactivChia.
At first, I was skeptical.
How can you possibly “oomph” chia seeds??
Well, PRANA found a way!
ProactivChia is considered a triple threat superfood because it not only combines the traditional goodness of chia seeds, it adds to probiotics from 2 live strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus & Lactobacillus helveticus) in each serving.
This is pretty great, enhancing the health benefits with probiotics!
Chia Blueberry Overnight Oats Recipe
So, how to use this little seeds?
Any way you would normally use chia seeds.
I decided to make a few jars of overnight oats for the week.
The recipe is super easy – just way I like it.
2/3 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1 tbsp nut butter (I used natural peanut butter)
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 tsp ProactivCHIA
2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp raw honey (or maple syrup)
– Mix all ingredients, except almond milk and honey, in a bowl.
– Divide the mixture evenly between the amount of containers you’re splitting them in.
– Pour milk and honey on top of each.
– Close containers and shake, shake, shake.
– Place in the fridge overnight.
– Add fresh blueberries and cinnamon on top before serving.
